We don’t seem to have any tasks left to do on the empennage tailcone, until the QB fuselage arrives months down the road. So, I decided to store it in the basement. It’s light enough for two people to carry easily, but a bit awkward to angle down the basement stairs from the driveway and through the double doors. Neighbor Tim helped, and no cussing was involved, fortunately! We have a whole bunch of fiberglass fairings to trim and shape and install on the control surfaces. First task was to trim the rudder bottom fairing to size. This was a PITA (pain in the ass) with the standard dremel cutting wheels, which tended to break every 30 seconds or show and fling shrapnel all over the garage. (Later, Paul and Kacy told me about a carbide cutting disk available on amazon, and that made future fiberglass trimming MUCH easier).
