Got to fly an RV-14!
August 27: I got to fly in Craig Saxton’s beautiful RV-14, which was my first chance ever to fly in a -14! Craig often flies into KPAO for a few days at a time, and he realized that he could save some commute time if he used KSQL instead, but he wasn’t familiar with the arrival and departure procedures there. So, I offered to show Craig the SQL procedures, and he offered to let me fly his plane, including takeoffs and landings! We flew together for about 1.5 hours, and I did 4 takeoffs and landings. The plane felt just like Paul and Kacy’s RV-7, so it seemed familiar right from the start. It was really fast and fun, and made me more anxious to get our plane flying!
